On September 11, 2009, Veoh Networks, Inc (Veoh), a company that operates an online video service, was granted summary judgment by the US District Court of the Central District of California because its services fell within the scope of the safe harbour provision of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). In effect, this ended Universal Music Group's copyright infringement action against Veoh.
